DeKalb Medical at Hillandale Joint Commission Quality Requirements

An independent, not-for-profit organization, the Joint Commission accredits and certifies more than 16,000 health care organizations and programs in the United States. Joint Commission accreditation and certification is recognized nationwide as a symbol of quality that reflects an organization’s commitment to meeting certain performance standards.

Performance measurement is a critical link between accreditation and the processes and outcomes of patient care, allowing the Joint Commission to review data trends and patterns. The Joint Commission works with organizations as they use data to improve health care quality, improve patient outcomes and reduce associated costs.

DeKalb Medical reports quality information to the Joint Commission on certain “key” performance measures as a part of our accreditation process.  The Joint Commission publishes this information on their site.
